Use of  The Brigstocke Room is dedicated to Acorns Nursery, which has been operating for over 30 years in the Village Hall. The nursery is flourishing and was judged ‘Outstanding’ in its latest Ofsted inspection in July 2015.

St Mary’s Infant School is a short walk further down Shackleford Road and accommodates children from Acorns, Shackleford and the surrounding area. St Mary’s was judged ‘Outstanding’ in its last Ofsted inspection, in June 2009, and again ‘Outstanding’ in its more recent SIAMS inspection in June 2014.

The Village Hall is next to St Mary’s Church.
